My Job
I help people in my team grow professionally and personally. I (try to) make clients happy and help them navigate the EU.
My Experience
I studied international relations and started working as a journalist. Since I arrived in Brussels in 2008, I have been working in the energy and climate advocacy space – as a reporter, in a trade association, in house, and now as a consultant.
Energy and climate policies are the core. Transport is in the mix. I take with me Association Management and Media from previous work experiences.
My Specialisms
My Education
- Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) – MA in international relations (Washington, DC, USA)
- University of Turin, Italy – BA in International Relations
- Science Po Lyon (France) – Erasmus year
My Languages
English, French, Italian (and Spanish).
My Interests outside work
I was an exchange student in high school (I spent a year in a US family), and that still somewhat defines who I am today: I volunteer for the Association organising the exchanges (AFS, American Field Service) and with my family we have hosted students three times. That’s why I ended up in Brussels: I love living and working in a multicultural environment, speaking different languages as a matter of habit every day, as we mostly do in this town.
I also define myself as a sporty person: I do triathlons, and like outdoors very much. This is also what I tend to do with my wife, daughter and son.
My Favourite Brussels anecdote
At the beginning of the Czech presidency of the Council in 2009, an artist created a prank painting that was displayed in the atrium of the Justus Lipsius. It pictured the EU countries stressing their cliché perception. For quite a while, nobody understood it was a prank and the EU bubble discussed in all seriousness its artistic value.
