My Job
I found my way to public affairs via a roundabout route through journalism, teaching, and NGO advocacy, though always guided by a common aim – helping people understand and engage with complex issues that matter to society. I apply these best practices to support clients in designing policy narratives and advocacy strategies that will have a real impact.
My Experience
At HLC, I’ve worked closely with companies, trade associations, and NGOs to develop advocacy strategies in the areas of healthcare, food and drink, and environmental sustainability, while also tackling issues as diverse as counter-radicalisation and fake news.
Recent highlights include: supporting a trade association with their messaging and advocacy plan to address structural flaws in key legislation; working with a biotech company to shape the launch environment of a novel therapy for an overlooked patient population; and helping a fast-growing NGO refresh their story in an increasingly challenging external landscape.
As part of the HLC Leadership Team, I also work on internal projects that range from shaping the strategic direction of the company to training and mentoring our team of talented young EU public affairs professionals.
