My Job

Helping clients from a variety of sectors to understand and be understood in EU policymaking, with a particular focus on sustainable transport, defence industrial policy, and sustainability issues more broadly. I strive to integrate in my clients’ internal teams, because I believe trust and understanding between client and consultant is key for delivering properly tailored services and impactful advocacy.

On top of my role as a consultant in the traditional sense, I am EU representative of a leading European Commercial Vehicle manufacturer, as part of a dedicated team of 6 Kreab consultants.

My Experience

A decade of experience working with European policy and politics, of which 8 years in Brussels as a Public Affairs consultant. Joined Kreab with prior experience as an EU Public Affairs consultant with group-level responsibilities, and previously worked at the EU Delegation to Norway.

My Proudest Achievements

I take great pride in helping my clients succeed, both with concrete policy objectives and with excelling in their jobs through advice and hands-on support.
What personally stands out the most to me is when I see my fingerprints in adopted EU legislation, having made a clear difference on my clients’ behalf. The Eurovignette Directive will forever be close to my heart, for that very reason.

My Education

  • MSc with Distinction in International and European Politics, University of Edinburgh, 2015
  • MA with 1st class honours in Politics & International Relations, University of Aberdeen, 2014

My Languages

English and Norwegian (native). Understand and can be understood in Danish and Swedish as well.

My Interests outside work

  • “Disconnecting” at my cabin on an island in the Oslo fjord, where there is neither electricity nor running water (don’t worry, the 4G coverage is great).
  • Riding around the Belgian countryside on my motorbike
  • Running or going to the gym, when I can find the time

My Favourite Brussels anecdote

A personal one, as a Norwegian citizen: I came to Brussels for a study trip with my Masters class while I was at University. I distinctly remember thinking “I wish there was a prospect of me building a career here, but that’s basically out of the question as a non-EU citizen”. Well, here I am, 8 years into my Brussels residency, with no sign of leaving any time soon!
