My Job
I lead DGA’s Food and Consumer Goods practice in Brussels, overseeing a team that advises companies ranging from food and beverages to personal care and household products navigate EU policy trends and regulatory developments.
My Experience
I started my career with a FTSE 100 company in Brussels, before moving to Interel in 2017. Since then, I have supported consumer facing industries, in particular food and beverage, engage on issues ranging from consumer protection, marketing, sustainability, public health and taxation. This includes providing strategic advice, scenario planning, stakeholder engagement support, advocacy strategies and guidance on regulatory developments and political risks.
My Specialisms
My Proudest Achievements
It may sound cliché but I am most proud of the relationships built over the past decade. Having the opportunity to work with some of the world’s leading consumer brands, becoming a trusted extension of their teams and continuing to support them through change and challenges, some continuously for nearly 10 years, has been the most rewarding part of my career.
My Education
- M.A. in European Public Affairs, Maastricht University (2014-2015)
- Undegraduate degree in Politics with honours, University of Hull (2011-2014)
My Languages
English, Romanian, French.
My Interests outside work
Enjoying films and exhibitions at Bozar, spending time with friends and family, and different fitness pursuits – lately, bouldering.
My Favourite Brussels anecdote
As a trainee, I once told an MEP who mentioned he had not been accepted to Maastricht University: “You could always apply again, they would probably take you now”. We both laughed. Brussels is a city built on relationships, I think being direct and genuine goes a long way.
