My Job

I lead Inline Policy’s Brussels team: focused on helping our clients understand and influence EU tech and digital policy.

My Experience

Originally an American, I’ve been in Brussels for more than ten years, working mostly in EU politics as part of the European People’s Party (EPP) family, including both at EPP HQ and in the European Parliament. I’ve led Inline Policy’s Brussels office since June 2024. I’m also proud to be a research associate with the EPP’s political foundation, the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, where I focus on issues relating to transatlantic policy and EU democracy.

My Proudest Achievements

I’m grateful for the adventure of having worked alongside the EPP’s campaign director from 2017 to 2019 to coordinate the party’s campaign for the 2019 European Parliamentary elections. We visited every Member State and engaged stakeholders from all EU institutions and throughout the whole EPP political family.

My Education

  • B.A. in German and Philosophy, Wheaton College (IL, USA); M.A. in English Literature, University of Alabama at Birmingham
  • M.A. in International Relations and International Economics, Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS)

My Languages

English, French, German.

My Interests outside work

Old pubs, big trees, good stories, cathedrals.

My Favourite Brussels anecdote

‘‘The best thing about Brussels is Strasbourg’’, I’ve often thought: meaning, by way of metonymy, not just the actual bustling experience of plenary week in the Alsatian capital but the dynamic reality of EU policymakers wherever the ‘‘bubble’’ may be congregating, in Brussels or elsewhere in Europe. Someone once said to me that it’s as though someone has sprinkled a string of pearls over Brussels — and your job is to find them! The biggest pearls of all, to me, are those moments of ‘‘Strasbourg’’ magic: when creative, and consequential, ideas are being debated, in some marvelous setting, by thoughtful stakeholders from across the continent.
